I love working with designers. Over the last 9 years, I’ve had a chance to work with many talented artists on web design, branding, UI/UX, hardware prototyping and much more. I’m looking for a new collaborator to join my team, so I want to share my typical workflow so you can see what it’s like to freelance at Mixed In Key.
All my projects start with a sketch, which I create using Balsamiq software:
To explain my vision, I add a few comments about UX functionality, so it’s easier to understand the sketch:
I look for inspiration in cars, vintage watches, photo journalism and high fashion.
The designer and I collaborate on the visual theme, and start creating prototypes and mockups of what the result could look like:
With lots of refinement and going back-and-forth, we come up with the final design together:
We launch to the public, get feedback, and improve it again.
